Networking: Business After Hours events are conducive to networking, allowing attendees to mingle, exchange ideas, and build valuable connections with other Chamber members and their guests.

Fun and Fellowship: These events are known for their enjoyable atmosphere, providing attendees with an evening of fun and fellowship. It’s a chance to unwind, socialize, and build relationships outside of formal business settings.

Showcasing Your Business: Hosting a Business After Hours event provides a platform to showcase your business to fellow Chamber members and their guests. Whether it’s through product demonstrations, presentations, or informal conversations, you have the opportunity to highlight what makes your business unique.

Meeting Potential Customers: Business After Hours events offer a prime opportunity to meet potential customers in a relaxed environment. By engaging with attendees and sharing information about your products or services, you can attract new clients and foster valuable leads.

Introducing Products and Services: Whether you’re launching a new product or promoting existing services, a Business After Hours event allows you to introduce your offerings to an attentive audience. It’s a chance to generate interest, gather feedback, and potentially secure new business opportunities.

When Does Business After Hours Take Place?

The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours traditionally takes place on a Thursday of each month from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Other dates are available per request of the business and at the discretion of the Chamber.

Host Responsibilities

The Host will be responsible for:

  • Experience: Provide a fun atmosphere with appropriate music.
  • Parking: Accommodate for ample parking or alternative approved offsite parking.
  • Event Space: Private area, indoors or covered outdoors, for a minimum of 30 attendees and a registration area for Chamber staff to collect admittance fees.
  • Food & Beverage: Finance, coordinate, and supply an adequate amount of complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.  Should you opt to cater the event, we strongly encourage you to partner with a fellow Chamber Member.
  • Help with marketing by promoting the event to your customers on your social media and in your storefront.
  • Sound System: Sufficient amplification for announcements, Host remarks, and drawing door prizes provided by the Host and Co-Host.  This can be coordinated by contacting the Chamber.
  • Get your employees involved.
  • Plan for approx. 25+ people in attendance.
  • Send the Chamber a hi-resolution logo four weeks in advance.
  • Invite your clients, vendors, family, and friends.
  • Share a few remarks with attendees at the event (public speaking).
  • Optional add-ons:
    • Provide door prizes (this could include donations from clients)
    • Provide tours

Chamber Responsibilities

  • List event on Chamber website.
  • Provide featured spot on the Chamber website leading up to the event.
  • E-mail marketing to individuals and businesses in our contact database.
  • Collect RSVPs – Provide the sponsor/host a projected attendance figure at least 48 hours prior to the event.
  • Registration – Manage all registration operations including staff support for collecting event admittance fees, new member sign-in, and business card collection. All registration admittance fees collected will be considered revenue of the Chamber and is not shared with the sponsor/host.
  • Highlight your business in the weekly eblast in the weeks leading up to the event.
  • Provide social media promotions on Chamber’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
  • Provide Chamber representatives to greet your attendees.
  • Contacts – Supply sponsor/host with attendee contact details after the event.
