Schoharie Mohawk Initiative for Science and Technology

Schoharie Mohawk Initiative for Science and Technology (SMIST) encourages the pursuit of opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts, and Math (STEAAM) by identifying, developing, delivering and supporting initiatives for the Schoharie and Mohawk communities. We are committed to fostering collaboration and breaking down boundaries between individuals and organizations to increase STEAAM opportunities for children. STEAAM is not about the technology or platform as those are always changing. SMIST encourages critical thinking, development of technical and soft skills, and building of self-confidence. Students must not be afraid to fail and should be allowed to learn from their mistakes. Ultimately, we believe STEAAM is FUN, and every child should have the opportunity to experience it!
