Our family-owned and operated company was founded in the mid 1980s with a store in South Glens Falls, New York out of which we primarily manage the overall company. Next, we purchased our Rutland, Vermont store in 2000, which was previously known as W.C. Landon, a commercial and True Value hardware store. W.C. Landon is one of the oldest continuously running businesses in the entire State of Vermont, started in 1840 because of the railroad and central location in the state.

In 2002, we acquired the Johnstown Ace Hardware store, and had to quickly adjust to the challenges of multi-store management. Watertown Ace Hardware was purchased and added in 2005. In 2008 we acquired Cobleskill Ace Hardware. We then added Lyme Home & Hardware as a start-up in 2009 as a Do It Best Hardware store. We converted Lyme to Ace Hardware in 2013. Our most recent acquisition was the purchase of the Cambridge True Value Hardware store at the end of 2012. Cambridge was converted to Ace Hardware at that time. We are proud of the many renovations and improvements made to the historical building which houses the Cambridge store, squeaky wood floors and all.

Each and every store is considered a local hardware store from which we draw our customer loyalty in the shadows of Big Box stores all around us. We take extreme pride in our business model of extraordinary customer service and engagement to the hometowns and surrounding communities. Please stop by and give us the opportunity to exceed your expectaions.
